Consumer Protection Department
The government of Albania, the Ministry of Economy is responsible for consumer protection and safety in Albania. Within the Ministry of Economy the Consumer Protection Department (CPD) has the overall responsibility for the management, organisation and supervision of the activities on the consumer protection and market surveillance in Albania.
The Law on Consumer Protection defines the competencies of the CPD, which was established in 2002. Structure and functioning have been approved by the Council of Ministers.
