Albanian Consumer Association
Advice on individual consumers, competition problems or complaints, interpretation of legislation in individual cases is provided by the Albanian Consumer Association (ACA).
ACA was established in 1990 and has 36 branches as counselling offices within Albania. ACA is an independent body created on a voluntary basis (NGO). The statutes of ACA focus on the ethical standards of consumer protection i.e. to protect the rights of consumers in the market place. The government has recognised ACA as an important partner for promoting consumer safety and protection in Albania. ACA is represented at meetings of the governmental authorities in field of consumer safety and protection. ACA’s activities in testing and promoting consumer rights are regularly highlighted in the media of Albania.
ACA has a flexible membership fee of USD 2-5-10. The envisaged budget is around USD 16000 and is a member of the Consumer International.

The activities of ACA for promoting consumer rights are highlighted in the media (newspapers and TV). For example, about 12-15 articles are inserted each month in the daily newspapers about defective products.
